A Maltipoo is a Maltese × Poodle mix: small (about 8–14 in tall, ~5–20 lb), typically low-shedding with a wavy/curly coat, and a lifespan around 13–16 years. They’re affectionate, people-oriented, and good for first-time owners, but need regular brushing and professional grooming plus daily play/walks. Common issues to watch for include dental disease, luxating patella, ear infections, and occasionally orthopedic/neurologic problems; avoid extreme “teacup” lines due to fragility. Note: the Maltipoo is a designer cross, not an AKC-recognized breed.
